Cleveland, OH : Woman killed in three-vehicle crash wednesday on July 16, 2014
A 26-year-old Cleveland woman has been identified after she was killed in a multiple-vehicle accident.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner says Cashmere Jackson died at MetroHealth Medical Center after she was taken there from the crash site.
Police say the preliminary information reveals that there was a fight between women about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Shell Gas Station at 2625 East 55th Street.
During the fight, Sandie C. Sanderson, 23, was driving a Pontiac Grand Am and lightly backs into a Chevrolet Impala driven by Shatai N. Jefferson, 26.
Jackson, the passenger in the Impala, got out of the car. Police say Sanderson drives the Pontiac towards her and Jackson then jumped onto the hood of the Pontiac.
Sanderson then drove the Pontiac out of the parking lot and onto East 55th street and proceeded southbound with Jackson still on the hood.
The Pontiac then veered across the double-yellow line, and Jackson came off of the hood and the Pontiac collided head-on with another Chevrolet Impala which was being driven by a 68-year-old man and was stopped in the left turn lane.
Jackson then rolled onto East 55th Street and was run over by a 2013 Honda Accord being driven northbound on East 55th Street by a man, 62.
Police arrested Sanderson.
