The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision that was initially believed to be a single car collision but is now being called a hit-and-run.
The Calhoun County Coroner identified the victim in the collision as 14-year-old Grace Sulak of Bluffton.
The driver of the vehicle and another passenger were flown to the hospital, their conditions are unknown at this time.
Troopers with SCHP say the collision happened just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening on I-26 East near mile marker 134. Initially, troopers say it appeared that an SUV had driven off the road and hit a tree. However, investigators with the MAIT team determined that another vehicle hit the SUV, forcing it off the road.
Troopers say they are looking for a white pick-up truck with damage to its front fender on the passenger side.
