CUMRU TWP, PA : Two drivers and officer hurt after two crashes in Berks on Saturday, 7th September 2024

Two people are in the hospital, and a police officer is hurt, after two crashes on an off-ramp in Berks County.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. Saturday on the ramp between I-176 North and Route 422 West in Cumru Township.

Police say a driver lost control on the ramp and his car hit the guardrail.

When an officer arrived on the scene to help, police say a pickup truck crashed into the officer's patrol vehicle.

The officer says he jumped over a median to avoid getting hit himself.

Police say the drivers of the car and pickup truck were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
