Greenville, OH: Illinois couple seriously hurt in Darke County crash on Sunday, August 2nd 2015
The 2014 Honda CR-V was driven by 54-year-old Alan Long, of Belleville, Illinois.; his wife and son, 52-year-old Amy Long and 26-year-old Eric Long, were passengers, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.Long was westbound on U.S. 36 and stopped at the Ohio 121 intersection, then proceeded through and failed to yield to a northbound 2003 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 31-year-old Thomas Finlay of West Alexandria, according to the sheriff’s office.The CR-V was struck in the driver side and then traveled off the northwest corner of the intersection more than 1,000 feet into a soybean field, according to the sheriff’s office.Alan and Amy Long were both taken to Miami Valley Hospital via Careflight, while their son was uninjured. Their conditions were not immediately available.Finlay was talem to Wayne HealthCare in Greenville for minor injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
