Mingo, IA : Three critically injured in collision at US 65 near IA 117 Sunday afternoon, March 5, 2017

Three Marshalltown residents, including one 12-year-old, were transported with critical injuries to a Des Moines-area hospital after a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 65 near Iowa Highway 117 Sunday afternoon.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2015 Chevy Silverado was traveling northbound on Highway 65 when the vehicle failed to yield to a southbound 2000 Mercury Cougar. Officials at the scene said the Mercury struck the passenger side of the truck.

Two air ambulances were dispatched to the accident site. Marshalltown residents, 50-year-old Victor Cisneros-Bravo, 48-year-old Blanca Gudino-Marin and a 12-year-old were transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in critical condition.

Iowa State Patrol said the three injured in the incident were the occupants of the Mercury Cougar.

The driver of the Chevy Silverado, who was later identified as 65-year-old Douglas Anderson, of Eldridge, was not transported for injuries.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, Mingo Fire Department and Baxter Fire Department assisted in the incident.
