Police in a Twin Cities suburb say a man was struck and killed by a car while he was walking on a sidewalk.

The driver of the wayward car fled from the scene in Blaine Thursday night, but was later arrested.

Authorities say the victim was 39 years old.

The vehicle damaged a utility box, a car and a mailbox after it left the roadway.
