Bethlehem, PA : Bucks County man dead in a traffic accident involving a car and Lehigh University bus on Route 22 near the Lehigh-Northampton county line on Tuesday evening, Oct 27, 2015

A 28-year-old Bucks County man was pronounced dead after Tuesday evening's Route 22 crash involving a Lehigh University bus, authorities said.

The Quakertown man was the driver of a car involved in a collision with the bus, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office said in a news release.

Coroner Scott Grim said the driver's name would be released once his identity is confirmed and next of kin are notified. An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday to try to determine the cause and manner of death, the coroner's office said.

The crash occurred about 5:50 p.m. on Route 22 West at mile-marker 324.9 in Bethlehem, according to the coroner's office. Pennsylvania State Police indicated the crash occurred in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, but city emergency personnel responded.

Lehigh said 20 student-athletes on the Bethlehem school's men's and women's crew teams were on board the bus, which flipped onto its roof following the collision. The students were taken by ambulance for medical evaluation.

"Preliminary reports indicate that there are no serious injuries involving Lehigh students or personnel," the university said in a statement.
