Phoenix, AZ : Driver arrested after fleeing from trooper causing crash in Phoenix on Thursday, 11th July 2024
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A driver is in custody after allegedly fleeing from Department of Public safety troopers and causing a crash in Phoenix on Thursday morning.
According to DPS, a trooper attempted to pull over a driver inside a Dodge pickup on Interstate 17 near Northern Avenue. However, the driver refused to stop and exited the freeway. DPS says the trooper backed off on pursuing the suspect.
A short time later, another trooper located the suspect’s vehicle in a Costco parking lot near 33rd and Grand avenues. The suspect immediately attempted to speed out of the parking lot and crashed into another driver just outside the shopping center.
The suspect and a woman inside his vehicle had minor injuries, along with the second driver involved in the collision.
