Information on a white Toyota sedan, with New York registration and driver's side damage, is being sought after it fled following a crash Sunday on Interstate 78 West in Lower Saucon Township, Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast report.

An International Harvester tractor-trailer, driven by Charles D. Baldassare, 49, of Hedgesville, West Virginia, was traveling about 72 mph at 8:15 p.m. in the left lane, police said. The Toyota attempted to move from the right lane to the left lane as the truck passed it, police said. The driver's side of the Toyota hit the passenger side of the tractor-trailer, police said.

Baldassare lost control of the truck, which went off the highway and hit the high-tension center median and about 50 feet of guard rail, police said.

Baldassare was taken by Dewey Fire Co. EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, police said. A patient services employee on Monday morning refused to provide Baldassare's condition.

There was damage to the truck's diesel fuel tank and there was damage behind the rear tires from hitting the guard rail, police said.
