CHICAGO, IL : 1 seriously hurt in multiple vehicle crash on I-57 near Cal-Sag on Friday, 9th June 2023

One person is dead after four vehicles were involved in a crash Friday morning on Interstate 57 near the Cal Sag Channel.

Illinois State Police said, around 8:30 a.m., a white Peterbilt dump truck had broken down and parked on the left shoulder of the southbound lanes of I-57 near the Cal Sag Channel, when a gold 2014 Chevrolet sedan in the right lane crossed all lanes to the left and hit the back of the truck, then swerved back to the right.

Two other cars, a red 2010 Pontiac sedan and red 2018 Hyundai sedan, were hit by debris from the crash.
