A 24-year-old Greenville man died early Sunday morning after the car he was driving hit a tree in the Berea community, authorities said.
Santos Neptal Menez Vasquez, of Lilly Street, was not wearing a seatbelt, said Lance Cpl. Tony Keller, spokesman for the Highway Patrol.
Vasquez was traveling on Lions Club Road and drifted off the right shoulder into a yard before striking a tree, said deputy Greenville County coroner Kent Dill. Accident happened at just before 12:30 a.m. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, Dill said.
The accident is under investigation by the Greenville County Coroner's Office and the Highway Patrol.
