A truck driver from Hartford was killed when his vehicle crashed into a wall early Tuesday on the Tri-State Tollway in the west Chicago suburb of Hinsdale.
Glen D. Dantuma, 61, was driving a UPS tractor-trailer south on Interstate 294 when he lost control of the vehicle.
The truck left the road near 47th Street and struck a concrete median at about 2:30 a.m., according to a statement from Illinois State Police. A portion of the truck went into the northbound side of the tollway, police said.
Dantuma, of the 200 block of East Loos Street in Hartford, was pronounced dead just after 3 a.m. at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
There was no information by midday on what caused Dantuma to lose control of the vehicle.
