A motorcycle officer collided with a delivery truck Tuesday morning

in Brownsville.

At approximately 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, emergency crews were called to the scene of an accident on Military Highway, where

a Brownsville Police Department motorcycle officer was involved in a collision with a Houston Meat Distributors delivery truck.

The officer’s motorcycle appeared to have crashed into the center of the right side of the truck, landing on its side and sliding slightly underneath the vehicle.

A spokesman for the police department said, “Our preliminary investigation reveals the officer was complaining of knee and hip pain, but non-life threatening injuries for sure. He is being tended to and evaluated, so that’s our preliminary investigation right now. We don’t know at this point who’s at fault or anything like that. It’s a very active scene at this point.”

The name of the officer involved in the collision was not released.
