Laurens, SC : Upstate man killed in car collision after striking tree on Mountville Road early Sunday morning, December 18, 2016

The Laurens County Coroner has identified one man who died after striking a tree on Mountville Road early Sunday morning.

According to the report, 42-year-old Lamont Fleming of Laurens was traveling along Mountville Road at about 12:30 a.m. when he ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead on scene.

The coroner said Fleming was not wearing a seat belt and became entrapped. He had to be extracted from the vehicle.

Fleming's cause of death was blunt force trauma.
