Boswell, PA : Pennsylvania driver killed by deer that hit his vehicle after being struck by another vehicle on Friday, June 20, 2014
State police say a motorist has died after being struck by a deer that was first hit by another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on a rural southwestern Pennsylvania highway.
Troopers from the Somerset barracks say 56-year-old Ralph Striner, of Connellsville, was killed when the deer crashed through the windshield of his Chevrolet Equinox and hit him about 1 p.m. Friday.
Police say Striner was westbound on Route 30 in Jenner Township, Somerset County when an eastbound sport-utility vehicle driven by Lynda Gregg, of Arnold, Maryland, hit the deer, launching it into the path of Striner's car.
Police say Gregg was not injured.
The Somerset County coroner pronounced Striner dead at the scene.
