Mount Prospect, IL : A 90-year-old woman died Friday evening after being hit by a car in a Mount Prospect Jewel-Osco parking lot, May 9th 2014

A 90-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car in the parking lot of a Jewel Osco in Mount Prospect Friday.

The victim, Harriet S. Abernathy-Ogorzalek, died of injuries from the accident at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge on Friday evening, police said.

The occupant of the car that allegedly struck Ogorzalek was an 88-year-old Northbrook woman who was not injured in the accident, officials said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
