Jacksonville, FL : 31-year-old man injured in scooter crash on Beach Boulevard near Forest Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon, May 12, 2015

A man was rushed to UF Health in critical condition after the scooter he was riding slammed into the back of a stopped car, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The 31-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was riding on Beach Boulevard near Forest Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon when he hit a car stopped at the Southside intersection.

Two eastbound lanes of Beach Boulevard at Forest Boulevard were closed while the Florida Highway Patrol investigated.
