Missoula, MT : Mountain Line bus crashes into Missoula building on Monday, July 18, 2016

A Mountain Line bus driver is scratching his head as to why a city bus crashed into a downtown building.

Missoula Police Corporal Pat Erbacher says that the bus crashed into the city council chambers building around 6 p.m. on Monday.

The bus was unoccupied at the time, and it's unclear if the parking brake failed or if the bus was not in gear.

The bus driver received minor injuries in an attempt to stop it.

And the bus itself was significantly damaged. There is no estimate to the cost of damage at this time.

While there was little damage done to the building, an engineer reports it is sound.
