It was just after 4 a.m. on Sunday when Ed and Kathy Springhetti were awakened by a deafening crash rattling through their Bridgewater home.
Ed Springetti instantly recognized the sound of a vehicle barrelling across their front yard.
“I heard this big crash loud noise boom and I kind of knew what it was,” Springhetti said. “I was calling 911 before I even came out here because I knew what had happened.”
A vehicle had crashed into their 21 Auburn St. home, plowing through the yard and tearing out the entire front wall of the house.
Located at the corner of a four-way stop intersection, the Springetti’s front yard has been the site of three similar car crashes in the last 10 years, Springetti said, though none as damaging as this one.
