NEW HARTFORD, NY : New Hartford crash injures 1 on Friday June 2, 2017
Town police said a Friday morning car accident resulted in minor injuries.
Eunice Smith, 89, of Sauquoit, failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle while pulling onto Seneca Turnpike from Alvin Place, police said.
As a result, Smith’s vehicle collided with an eastbound car being operated by Caroline Ford, 51, of Sauquoit, police said.
Ford was treated at the scene by members of the New Hartford Fire Department and Edwards ambulance for minor injuries, officials said. She was not taken to the hospital.
Two lanes of Seneca Turnpike were closed to traffic for about one hour until the wreckage could be cleared from the roadway.
Smith was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right of way while entering a roadway, police said.
