Southboro, MA : Two Worcester residents injured in a head-on car crash near the Interstate 495 overpass Tuesday, July 19, 2016
Police have been unable to speak with the two Worcester residents injured in a head-on car crash Tuesday on Route 30 near the Interstate 495 overpass, Police Chief Ken Paulhus said.
Police say a Honda Civic driven by Stephen Osei-Bonsa, 30, appears to have veered over the center line, colliding with a Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Mary Farr-Quinn, 49.
Paulhus said it will likely take at least a week for police to be able speak with Osei-Bonsa.
"We tried to speak with both of them (Wednesday) but they are unavailable because of their treatment," the chief said.
He said there is still no indication why the car veered. He said the accident remains under investigation.
Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free Osei-Bonsa. He was brought by rescue helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. The helicopter landed at Chestnut Hill Farm around 2:40 p.m.
Osei-Bonsa has serious, but not life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Farr-Quinn was brought to UMass by a Westboro ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
