Saint Paul, MN : Shakopee woman was killed in a head-on collision on Wednesday, November, 15th 2017

A Shakopee woman was killed in a head-on collision outside of Jordan on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol report, at 4:57 p.m., Barbara Joan Fashant, 67, of Shakopee was driving a 2003 Suzuki Aerio when she pulled into eastbound traffic on Highway 282 from Pueblo Avenue.

Fashant struck a 2012 Ford F-150 driven by Mark Anthony Neu, 52, also of Shakopee, head-on.

Fashant was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident and suffered fatal injuries. Neu was wearing his seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries.

Traffic heading toward Jordan on Highway 282 was redirected toward 180th Street West as the Jordan Fire Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Scott County Sheriff's Office secured the scene and investigated the accident.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Jordan Fire and Scott County Sheriff's Office also responded to an earlier three-vehicle accident at Highway 169 and Bluff Drive. No injuries were reported at that accident.
