Four people were treated for injuries in a three-vehicle crash in Williams County, Ohio, on Monday morning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Two minivans and a cement mixer were involved in the 7:45 a.m. crash at the intersection of U.S. 127 and County Road 15.75 in Pulaski Township, the highway patrol at Defiance said in a statement.
A minivan driven by Christopher Smith, 21, of West Unity, Ohio; a cement mixer driven by Bruce Phillips, 55, of Bryan, Ohio; and a minivan driven by Timothy J. Parsons, age unavailable, of Bryan were involved, the statement said.
Police said Smith swerved left of center to avoid a car that was stopped in the southbound lane on U.S. 127 and collided with the cement mixer, which was headed north.
Smith's van then collided with Parsons' minivan, which was stopped at a stop sign on County Road 15.75 and U.S. 127. The cement mixer overturned and landed in a ditch.
The Smith vehicle included Chelsea Childers, 21, and three young children, Matthew Smith, 1, Madison Smith, 3, and Melanie Smith, 6 months. All of the children were in child safety seats.
Childers and Melanie Smith were flown to Toledo for treatment. Phillips was taken to Bryan Community Hospital and Parsons was treated at the scene.
Everyone involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, the statement said.
