Two Clarendon women were killed in a three-vehicle, including two 18-wheelers, accident Saturday on Interstate 40.

According to the Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash report released Thursday, Linda J. Brewster, 47, and Lora A. Piggee, 49, were both killed in the wreck while no other injuries were reported.

The accident took place on I-40 West at the 173 mile marker in Lonoke County at 9:30 a.m.
Brewster was driving a 1997 Honda CRV when the car became stalled in the left lane of the interstate, according to investigating ASP Trooper Andrew T. May. The passenger side of a 2009 Freightliner collided with Brewster’s vehicle before running off the left side of the roadway. The front of a second Freightliner, a 2015 model, then collided with the rear of Brewster’s vehicle.
The driver's names, or any passengers, in either Frightliner were not included in the report.
It was raining at the time of the accident and road conditions were wet, according to the report.
Both bodies were transported to Thomas Funeral Home in Cabot.
