JACKSON, MS : JPD officer killed in motorcycle crash on April, Friday 14th 2017

Corporal Allen Harper Jr. will be laid to rest on Friday.

Public viewing is 1-6 p.m. Thursday, April 13 at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home; Services are 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, at New Horizon Church and burial is immediately following services at Garden Memorial Park Cemetery.

He died on Friday, April 7 at 8:52 a.m. from injuries sustained during an off-duty weekend motorcycle crash. Corporal Harper was a 22 year veteran of the Jackson Police Department.

The crash occurred on Saturday evening on High Street, near State Street in Jackson and involved a sedan. Jackson police say that preliminary results show that the sedan made a turn in front of the motorcycle causing collision.
