Memphis, TN : Woman charged in crash that killed motorcyclist claims she was covering for dad on October 2nd 2016
The woman charged in the crash that killed a motorcyclist and injured his passenger claims she was covering up for her dad.
According to a police report, Elixabeth Blackwood was driving a truck while pulling a trailer with a lawn mower on it. She was backing out of her driveway near the intersection of Woodstock Cuba Road and Little John Road when the motorcyclist hit the trailer.
Bruce Kingdon, who was driving the motorcycle, was killed in the crash. His wife, Cassie, was critically injured.
Investigators said Blackwood left the scene of the crash and pulled into her neighbor's driveway. She then drove through the yard to park her truck behind her own house. She then went inside her house without trying to help the injured couple. A neighbor called 911.
Blackwood's mother said her daughter wasn't trying to hide the truck, but instead, was trying to move it out of the road.
