Memphis, TN : One person died, 1 injured in three-car crash on I-240 at Millbranch Road on Saturday night, June 4, 2016

A man is dead after a three car crash on Interstate 240 at Millbranch Road late Saturday night.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m.

Investigators said a 2004 Saturn Ion was eastbound on I-240 when it rear-ended a 2002 Buick Century. The Saturn continued northbound through the median onto westbound I-240 where it hit the front of a 2007 Equinox. The Saturn also hit the guard rail.

The third driver, a 63-year-old woman, said she was driving westbound on I-240 when the Ion driver hit her, according to police.

A man, 49, was taken to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.

The driver of the Saturn, a 49-year-old man, was taken to Regional Medical Center in extremely critical condition, and later died from his injuries. Police said the man’s name will not be released until his next of kin is notified.
