Multi-vehicle accident near Park Avenue cleared

Authorities have cleared the multi-vehicle accident involving an overturned truck and injuries that blocked the right lane and two left lanes on Interstate 10 westbound before the City Park Avenue/Metairie Road exit. Congestion from the 8 a.m. wreck had reached Canal Street on I-10 west and Terry Parkway on the West Bank Expressway by about 9 a.m., so traffic is still slow, according to a Twitter account managed by the New Orleans Transportation Management Center, a project of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
Motorists should consider avoiding the area for a time and using Interstate 610 as an alternate route. Not many details on the crash were available, but there were three people hurt.
