A woman is dead after losing control of her vehicle and crashing into a South Florida school for developmentally disabled adults.

The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1NHK4vQ ) reports the impact of the Tuesday afternoon crash caused the building to shake and debris to fall.

Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll says the woman apparently hit the side of a building as she drove and the force across the road and into the front entrance of the Association for the Development of the Exceptional.

Authorities say the woman was unconscious and not breathing when she was taken to a trauma center. She was declared dead there. Her name hasn't been released.

A man in a wheelchair complained of leg pain and was taken to a hospital.

Police continue to investigate.
