Nashville, TN : Woman dies after SUV goes airborne off I-24 on Sunday morning, November 16, 2014
A woman was killed Sunday morning after her SUV went airborne off Interstate 24 and landed in the road below.
Metro police said Markeya Williams, a 29-year-old from Antioch, died in the crash around 4 a.m.
An investigation revealed Williams, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, lost control of her car on I-24 East, causing it to collide with the guardrail.
The SUV continued over the side, going airborne before landing on Murfreesboro Pike below.
Authorities said Williams was wearing a seatbelt, but improperly, at the time of the crash.
They added there was no visible indication of alcohol or drug involvement.
