Memphis , TN : Tractor-trailer hit side of an overpass then spilling its load and causing a mess at southbound Interstate 240 on Thursday morning , January 15th 2015

A tractor-trailer hit the side of an overpass Thursday morning, spilling its load and causing a mess on southbound Interstate 240 that impacted the commute.

The right southbound lane of I-240 at Norris Road was blocked for several hours while crews cleaned up debris. The accident happened early Thursday morning.

The truck was carrying two trailers of what looked like some type of fabric.

Police say the driver hit a light pole, a guard rail and scraped the overpass.

The driver was not injured.

All lanes of traffic in that area opened up around 6:20 a.m. Thursday.
