JONESBORO, AR : Teen cyclist injured in crash with car on Sunday, 18th September 2016
A teenager riding a bicycle was injured after being hit by a car on Sunday.
According to a Jonesboro police incident report, officers were called to the intersection of Huntington Avenue and Olive Street at 12:30 p.m. after the accident.
When officers arrived, they found a white Yukon with a black bicycle under the front bumper.
EMS on the scene were treating a 16-year-old boy on the street nearby.
A witness told police the victim was riding his bike south on Olive Street.
The driver of the Yukon told police the victim did not yield at the intersection and rode out in front of him.
An officer asked the driver to meet him at St. Bernards Medical Center for a blood test because of the injuries the victim had.
His blood was drawn and logged into evidence.
St. Bernards advised police the victim was flown Regional One Health in Memphis to be treated.
We do not know the extent of his injuries right now.
