Fatal car crash shuts down roadway for several hours

One person is dead after their vehicle crossed the center line crashing into another vehicle.

Authorities responded near SW 38th and Mustang Rd. just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

According to police the victim was driving northbound when the car went left of the center — that’s when the driver struck another vehicle heading southbound.

The driver of that vehicle luckily was not injured.
Police do not believe speed played a role in the accident.

The roadway remained closed for several hours — reopening just before 1:00 a.m. Friday morning.
