Las Vegas, NV : Motorcyclist injured after colliding with a car on 215 Beltway on Thursday, February 19, 2015

A crash involving a motorcycle and a car on the 215 Beltway south of Lone Mountain Road this evening sent one man to the hospital and caused traffic to back up in the area, Nevada Highway Patrol said.

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after colliding with a car about 5:45 p.m., Trooper Loy Hixson said.

The man was transported to University Medical Center with injuries believed to be serious but not life-threatening, Hixson said.

The car had only one occupant, a woman who was uninjured, Hixson said.

Traffic was backed up to Cheyenne Avenue as officials cleared the scene, he said.
