West Palm Beach, FL : Two killed in St. Lucie wreck on Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Two people were killed and three others seriously injured in a car crash Tuesday west of Fort Pierce, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The crash happened at about 10 a.m. near the intersection of Midway Road and Okeechobee Road.

The area is five miles west of Florida’s Turnpike.

One person was flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach and two others were taken to Fort Pierce’s Lawnwood Medical Center.

The Florida Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
