Newport, N.H : Four people injured in crash involving car, motorcycles on John Stark Highway on Sunday, July 24, 2016

The John Stark Highway in Newport was reopened Sunday evening after a crash closed a section of the road between Unity and Elm streets.

Newport police said they received several reports of a crash involving a car and two motorcycles on John Stark Highway -- just west of Unity Road.

Newport police said Brittany Tubman, 26, of Allenstown, was driving a 2004 Kia Amanti west on the highway when she crossed the center line and struck two eastbound motorcycles.

John Browne, 47, of Pembroke, was operating one motorcycle and was carrying Christina Browne, 47, of Pembroke, as a passenger.

David Goupil, 47, of Manchester, was operating the other motorcycle and was carrying Susanne Fournier, 43, of Bow, as a passenger.

Police said there were multiple serious injuries, but they were not believed to be life-threatening.

Three vehicles were towed from the scene, and the westbound and eastbound lanes of John Stark Highway (also known as Routes 11 and 103) were closed for about 2 1/2 hours.

The crash is still under investigation by Newport police.
