Hale County, TX : Plainview woman, 28, dies in one-vehicle crash near Abernathy on Tuesday, 23rd October 2018

A 28-year-old Plainview woman died in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Hale County.

Keisha Mansell was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that was reported about 1:54 p.m. on Interstate 27 north of Abernathy, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Bryan Witt.

DPS investigators believe she was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer south on I-27 when, for an unknown reason, she lost control of the vehicle, which skidded into the center median.

The Ford began to roll as it crossed the northbound lanes and ended up in an east ditch, said Witt. She was wearing her seat belt.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation late Tuesday.
