Burns, OR : Two people died in a head-on vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 20 just east of Burns on Monday afternoon, February 1, 2016

Oregon State Police say two people have died in a head-on vehicle collision just east of Burns.

Police say the crash happened Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 20 when the driver of a 2015 Chevrolet pickup tried to pass a commercial vehicle while heading east. The pickup struck a 2000 Cadillac heading west.

Police say both drivers died from injuries sustained the in the crash.

The names of the drivers have not been released.
