Kennett, MO : 3 hurt in crash near Bernie after storm on Thursday, March 16, 2017
A crash near Bernie left three people hurt after a driver failed to yield to an emergency vehicle before hitting a utility pole brought down by last night’s storm.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 8 p.m. Thursday on State Highway 25 near Bernie. Severe thunderstorms had been moving through the area in the hours before the crash, bringing heavy rain and high winds to the area.
Troopers say a car driven by 26-year-old Martavia Lee of Malden was driving south when she reputedly failed to yield to an emergency vehicle that was blocking the road.
Lee’s car ran off the road, then hit a utility pole that was in the road. She and two others in the vehicle suffered minor injuries. They were taken by ambulance to Southeast Health in Dexter for treatment.
