Victoria, TX : Alvin youth killed in Saturday's fatal crash identified on Saturday, March 11th 2017
The 15-year-old boy killed in a two-vehicle head-on wreck at 8:09 a.m. Saturday in Fayette County has been identified.
Dakota Hansen, of Alvin, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:06 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Dan Mueller.
The fatality report by Department of Public Safety Trooper Joshua Berger, who investigated the wreck, said the crash site was 1.9 miles from Schulenburg and was rainy with wet roads.
Roger Cheney, 67, and Cynthia Marie Cheney, 64, of Inez, were in a 2014 Nissan Frontier. They also died in the crash, according to the DPS crash report.
Denise Cain, 52, of La Porte, the driver of the 2015 Lexus RX, was transported to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.
As of Monday, Cain remained hospitalized. Her condition was unavailable.
The Lexus was traveling south on U.S. 77, while the Nissan was traveling north. The Lexus hydroplaned and drifted into the northbound lane, according to the DPS crash report.
The vehicles then struck head-on.
The Lexus came to rest in a ditch near the highway on its east side, while the Nissan rolled into the same ditch and came to rest upside down.
