CANTON, IL : A single-vehicle accident on May, Tuesday 2nd 2017

A single-vehicle accident Monday night southwest of Canton killed three people, according to police.

Morgan Bick, 18; Eric Morse, 41; and Nicholas Pacheco, 28, died as a result of the wreck about 10:30 p.m. at County Route 5 and Lone Barn Road, Fulton County Coroner Steve Hines said Tuesday. Morse was from Cuba. Bick and Pacheco were from Canton.

It’s unclear who was driving a vehicle that was eastbound on Route 5 when it veered off the right shoulder, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.

The vehicle then traveled through grass and brush, rolled down a 40-foot embankment and landed on its side in a strip-mine lake.

The deceased were among six passengers in the vehicle, according to Hines. He identified the others as Aja Blaine, Penni Hansen and Eugene Tennison. No ages or hometowns were available.

The survivors were transported to area hospitals with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Blaine was listed in fair condition Tuesday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Hansen and Tennison were not listed as patients at the major Peoria and Pekin hospitals, nor at Graham Hospital in Canton. Information from Mason District Hospital in Havana was unavailable.
