BERRYVILLE,VI : Berryville woman killed in Va. 7 crash on June, Monday 26th 2017

An 81-year-old Berryville woman died today following a two-vehicle crash on Harry Byrd Highway (Va. 7), according to Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler

Florence B. Stebbins was pronounced dead at 12:14 p.m. at Winchester Medical Center, about 90 minutes after her 1995 Toyota Camry pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer traveling west on Harry Byrd Highway (Va. 7), Tyler said.

Stebbins, who was airlifted from the scene, was traveling south on Crums Church Road when her vehicle entered Harry Byrd Highway at 10:48 a.m., Tyler said.

Trooper D.L. Sewell, who investigated the crash, said the westbound traffic on Harry Byrd Highway had a green light. Traffic on Crums Church Road had a red light.

No charges were filed in the accident.

The driver of the 2001 Freightliner tractor-trailer, Carlos Carlabous-Cespedes, 39, of Texas, was not injured, Tyler said.
