Mount Tabor, VT : Girl injured in two-vehicle crash on Route 7 near the Mount Tabor Country Store on Tuesday, June 28, 2016
Vermont State Police said a two-vehicle crash on Route 7 sent a juvenile female to Rutland Regional Medical Center.
The Manchester Rescue Squad transported the patient, likely out of an abundance of caution, said Rutland County Sheriff’s Deputy Lema Carter. The collision occurred around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday near the Mount Tabor Country Store, just north of the Brooklyn Road intersection.
At the scene, Trooper Jon Hall said the crash was still under investigation and didn’t have specifics about the girl’s potential injuries. Identity of the drivers and the age of the girl were not immediately available Tuesday afternoon.
Hall said a northbound Dodge Caravan was traveling directly behind a Hudson River Tractor Co. pick-up that was hauling a John Deere lawnmower. Hall said the Caravan rear-ended the truck’s trailer.
The Caravan’s hood was crumpled, and its radiator disabled. It was towed from the scene. North and southbound travel were temporarily slowed by traffic flaggers.
The Danby-Mount Tabor Fire Department, Rutland County Sheriff’s Department, Bennington Police Department and Manchester Police Department responded to the scene.
