A Klamath Falls man faces felony assault and other charges for allegedly causing a hit-and-run crash Sunday evening in White City that injured two children, authorities said.
Rowdy Winterhawk Decker, 37, was arrested Monday morning in White City on two counts of second-degree assault, three counts of third-degree assault, hit-and-run and reckless driving, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Decker was driving a red 1992 Chevrolet pickup north on Lakeview Drive when it allegedly sped through an intersection with Antelope Road, striking a Toyota Tacoma pickup that then rolled on its side.
Two children in the pickup were taken to a local hospital with injuries and a woman went to a hospital in a private vehicle for observation, deputies said. Three others, including one child, were unhurt.
Decker and a 30-year-old female passenger fled the scene on foot, though the woman later returned and was arrested on a warrant, deputies said.
Decker was found and arrested Monday morning at a family member’s residence in White City, deputies said.
Decker was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $240,000 bail.
