Utah state troopers say a 54-year-old Tennessee man has died after crashing his pickup truck just outside Capitol Reef National Park in southern Utah.

The Utah Highway Patrol says in a statement that Michael W. Anderson was traveling on State Route 24 near the town of Torrey around 2:30 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of his truck at a curve in the road.

Troopers say Anderson's truck went up an embankment and rolled.

He was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car and killed.

Utah troopers say they're trying to figure out if alcohol played a role in the crash.
