MISHAWAKA, IN : Mishawaka police officer injured in crash during chase on Monday, 27h May 2024

A Mishawaka police officer has been released from the hospital after she was injured in a crash during a chase late Monday night.

According to the Mishawaka Police Department, it all started around 9:40 p.m. when the officer pulled over a pickup truck in the 3600 block of Grape Road for having an improper license plate.

During the traffic stop, the driver of the pickup truck reportedly gave the officer two false names and dates of birth. Shortly after giving the second false name, the driver took off and headed south on Grape Road.

That’s when the officer began to pursue the pickup truck with her emergency lights and siren on.
