Two people have died after a man driving the wrong way on Interstate-26 near Hendersonville crashed into another vehicle.
Multiple media outlets said a 91-year-old Hendersonville man in a pickup was traveling west in the eastbound lane around 9:30 p.m. Monday when he hit a car.
North Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. Brent Hipp said both the 91-year-old man and the driver of the car, 36-year-old Samuel David Guberman of Greer, South Carolina, died at the scene.
The older man's name has not been released.
The eastbound lanes of the road were closed for about two hours while the patrol investigated.
