STRATTON, OH : A two-vehicle accident on state Route 7 in Stratton on Friday, July 28, 2017
An East Liverpool couple was taken by ambulance to Trinity Medical Center West Friday afternoon following a two-vehicle accident on state Route 7 in Stratton.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremy Grubb said a car driven by Mark Ensell was southbound on state Route 7 when it was struck by a milk tanker truck driven by Dale Shaum of Leetonia.
“The tanker truck was in the left lane and attempted to merge into the right lane when it struck the 2011 Chevrolet Impala driven by Ensell. Mr. Ensell lost control of his car and struck the concrete barrier wall and was then struck a second time by the tanker driven by Mr. Shaum,” explained Grubb.
Shaum was cited for improper lane change.
Grubb said Christine Ensell, a passenger in the vehicle, had to be cut out of the car by the Stratton Volunteer Fire Department.
The Ensells were taken to Trinity West for treatment.
Grubb said he did not know the Ensells’ condition.
