Galax, VA : Galax man injured in motorcycle crash on Saturday September 24 2016

A single-vehicle motorcycle wreck on Peaks Mountain Road at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday left the driver with unknown injuries, according to the Virginia State Trooper C.M. Delp.

A 2000 Harley-Davidson driven by James Paul Leprad Jr., 56, of Galax, was traveling on Peaks Mountain Road when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer, Delp said. Leprad was flung from the bike and landed beside the road next to a barbed-wire fence.

He was transported by Baywood Rescue with unknown injuries, said Delp.
