Holland Twp, MI : One injured in four-car crash on U.S. 31 in Ottawa County on Thursday morning, May 12, 2016
A 27-year-old Zeeland man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash Thursday morning at U.S. 31 and Riley Street in Holland Township that involved four vehicles.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Juan Trevino was traveling east on Riley shortly after 6:30 a.m. when he entered the intersection with northbound U.S. 31 under a blinking red light. Trevino’s vehicle was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by 27-year-old John Schafer of Wayland, who had a flashing yellow light.
The crash caused Trevino’s vehicle to roll over and strike a third vehicle, which was driven by Patricia Vandenhuvel, 54, of Zeeland. Vandenhuvel was traveling west on Riley and was sitting at the red flashing light.
The crash forced Schafer’s vehicle into a fourth vehicle, driven by 29-year-old Jessica Bushee of Hamilton, who was also westbound waiting at the intersection.
Trevino was transported to the hospital.
